Elaine Miller - Vancouver Island Artist

I was raised on a farm in a French community in Saskatchewan, where I could literally see the horizon from any direction. I was taught to work hard and how to use tools at a young age. After receiving my Degree in Visual Communications at the Medicine Hat College in Alberta, I was drawn to the beauty of the rugged West Coast of Vancouver Island, where inspiration is around every corner. I am home!

My artwork is largely influenced by my surroundings, my family and historic elements. I love to utilize everything at my disposal: be it seaweed, arbutus branches/bark, driftwood, seaglass or even bringing new life to antiques, bricks, rusty nails, really anything deemed "garbage" by upcycling.

Please share your thoughts and comments with me, I love receiving feedback.... good or bad!
